Counseling Philosophy
Life inevitably brings challenges, but how we respond to those experiences, shapes our journey. Trauma, loss, anxiety, depression, and especially the profound changes that come with parenthood can leave lasting impacts. Healing is not linear, and it often involves facing discomfort. But holding onto pain without support can quietly shape your day-to-day life in ways that feel heavy and isolating. You’re here, which means you’re already moving toward healing. That matters.
Counseling Orientation
My therapeutic approach is integrative and tailored to your unique needs. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered Therapy, and Solution-Focused techniques to create a space that feels both safe and collaborative.
My role is to support you in reclaiming your peace, at your own pace. I believe you are the expert on your own life. With over five years of clinical experience, I’ve helped clients process trauma, rebuild after emotional and physical abuse, and find stability amid overwhelming transitions. Therapy isn’t about fixing you it’s about equipping you with the tools to uncover clarity, regain confidence, and feel empowered in your journey, especially through the often-overlooked mental health needs of parenthood. Let’s begin this journey together on your terms, in your time.
Areas of Specialty
As a therapist, a wife, and a mother, I bring not only professional training, but lived empathy to our work together. I specialize in supporting individuals, couples, and families who are navigating the emotional complexities of pregnancy, postpartum adjustment, identity shifts in individuality and parenthood, and maternal mental health challenges such as perinatal anxiety, depression, and grief.

Making the decision to start therapy can be a difficult and intimidating process, and I create a warm environment to help ease into the counseling journey. I believe the client is the expert in their own life, and my role as your counselor is to be your helper, not your expert. Through identifying patterns of thoughts and behavior as well as using therapeutic tools and strategies, my clients can learn to cope with any challenge they may face.
My counseling approach is defined as eclectic, individualizing my approach with each unique person. My primary therapeutic orientations include elements of person-centered, cognitive-behavioral, and solution focused techniques, allowing the client to explore their situation and empower them to identify any roadblocks that are affecting them negatively and seek answers within themselves to meet their goals.
I enjoy working with a variety of clients, primarily children, adolescents, young adults, and veterans. I have experience dealing with presenting issues including: adjustment issues, depression, anxiety, anger, trauma, children of divorce, LGBT+ issues, and career counseling.

Counseling Philosophy
My goal is to establish a safe and secure space where clients are free to be themselves. I will create a trusting relationship so that clients are free to express their thoughts and feel the full breadth of their emotions without judgment. This relationship is here for you so that you are able to work through the obstacles that are preventing you from finding contentment in your relationships, career and life. We will work towards finding a more peaceful you, even amidst the chaos of life.
Counseling Orientation
I work with each client to create a treatment plan best suited to their needs and goals. Throughout therapy, this plan will mold to the individual so that they are able to integrate therapeutic practices on their own. In this way, clients become more self-reliant and able to graduate from therapy with a therapeutic toolbox to carry into all of life. This is a person-centered approach with elements of cognitive behavioral therapy. This includes assessing the thoughts and automatic beliefs that keep us stuck in patterns that are not helpful.

Life presents us all with challenges. Talking through those challenges can prevent long standing issues from developing. Also, untangling the past through therapy can bring about unparalleled and lasting healing. I use a person-centered approach with clients that includes unconditional positive regard and compassion. The theorical leanings I tend toward are existentialism, humanistic and Internal Family systems. The quality of our relationships impacts our lives on so many levels. My hope is that we can build a trusting relationship to work out the tangles that life has thrown your way so that it can become more fulfilling and less burdensome. The folks that enjoy working with me are retirees, those coping with chronic illnesses, and young adults.

Finding Stability, Healing Attachment Wounds & Creating a Life You Love
Do you long to feel connected — to yourself, a partner, your children, or your parenting journey — but feel stuck in old patterns, pain, or uncertainty? You’re not alone. By providing a safe, steady, and gentle therapeutic space we can work to untangle longstanding patterns, heal emotional wounds, to build a life rooted in clarity, deeper connection, and life that truly reflects you.
Who I Work With
· Individuals navigating life transitions, identity shifts, or inner unrest
· People seeking to heal attachment injuries, childhood trauma, or early-life hurts that still echo today
· New and growing parents struggling with infertility, pregnancy, infant loss, caring for newborns, infants, toddlers, or preschoolers.
· Couples wanting to move beyond old communication patterns, reduce resentment, and build connection rooted in trust and safety
· Early childhood wrestling with emotional regulation, growing pains, or relational challenges using play informed practices to address developmentally focused care.
My Approach – Safe, Real, and Evidence-Informed
· Attachment theory-based therapy: As an attachment psychotherapist we can use an attachment informed lens to explore early attachment experiences that shaped how you learn to seek safety, belonging, and love. I enjoy helping clients gently look at these patterns and build relationships – with themselves and others – that feel secure, authentic, and deeply connected.
· Trauma-informed care & EMDR: I am trained through EMDR International Association (EMDRIA) and use trauma-sensitive, evidence-based methods to heal deep wounds and reduce the emotional charge around painful memories or perinatal trauma
· Perinatal Mental Health Trained Provider: Using advanced training received in perinatal mental health earned through Postpartum Support International I enjoy helping mothers, fathers, single parents, and families with perinatal mental health
mood disorders, post partum period, infertility, infant loss, and transition to parenthood.
· Play-informed work (with children): Through creative, developmentally attuned methods, younger clients can learn emotional regulation, build resilience, and navigate change in ways that feel natural and empowering.
· Couples & family work rooted in connection: Using Gottman and emotionally focused couples therapy, I support couples in learning healthier communication, creating boundaries, and rebuilding trust — especially during major life changes or parenting transitions.
