Sometimes life presents us with difficult challenges, and we feel lost. We may be haunted by trauma, feel stuck in relationships, have negative thoughts cycling around in our minds, and find that we are sabotaging ourselves. These are challenges that we all face, and I believe that good therapy can address all these issues and help foster the change and growth that we want to see in our lives. Counseling Philosophy: Counseling is a sacred space where you can freely express yourself authentically. I believe it is important to discuss issues or obstacles that you are currently experiencing, or to simply express matters that are ongoing. There are no matters too big or too small. Everything that means something to you is important and worth bringing up in sessions.
Counseling Orientation: My approach consists of multiple proven techniques and making use of different theorist styles. I like to focus on how thoughts, feelings and behaviors work together so I often make use of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. However, I will tailor the sessions to you and your needs. I believe it helps to have support when working through personal goals and I will be as committed as you are to reach them. I also include mindfulness and meditation into my sessions as these techniques are useful skills to add to daily life.
Area of Specialty: I work with adolescents and adults from a variety of backgrounds, demographics, and diagnosis. I have experience working with clients of various ages and within diverse populations. The focus is to support clients that are navigating through areas of anxiety and depression, adjustment and transition-related factors, passage through grief, as well as boundaries and self-esteem work. Motivational interviewing is another approach that I find to be a great tool for clients.
Qualifications: I am a Limited Licensed Counselor (LLC) that graduated from Wayne State University in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. License # 6451023089.

Taking the first step towards making a change can be an intimidating process. While it can be exciting, it can also feel overwhelming on where to begin. Whether you struggle with anxiety, depression, substance abuse, or are going through a challenging life event, I provide an empathetic, nonjudgmental environment where we can explore and work towards your individual goals.
I use an integrative theoretical approach with my clients, meaning that I take into account that every client and situation is different and must be treated as so. The therapy approaches I frequently use are Person-Centered, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Gestalt, and Solution Focused.
With a little bit of humor and a lot of compassion we can work together to move through challenges and towards what you want more of in life.
