Therapy isn’t about fixing what’s “wrong” with you — it’s about creating space to understand yourself more fully and to move through life with greater clarity and resilience. I see counseling as a partnership where we explore your story, uncover strengths, and work together toward the changes you want to see.
I earned both my Bachelor’s in Psychology (with a minor in Biology) and my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Oakland University. My experience spans working with clients from age 8 to 83, though I especially enjoy supporting adults as they navigate transitions, relationships, and personal growth. I specialize in grief and loss, trauma, couples therapy, and relational challenges, and I also work with clients managing anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, PTSD, ADHD, and autism. I provide affirming care for members of the LGBTQIA+ community and veterans/first responders.
My approach is eclectic and person‑centered, blending CBT, DBT, and the Gottman Method with compassion and authenticity. I believe small, intentional steps can lead to meaningful transformation, and I strive to make therapy a safe, collaborative process where you feel empowered to set the pace.
Outside of counseling, I recharge through fitness, reading, and time in nature. Family is central to my life, and my two grandkids bring joy, laughter, and adventure to my days.
Office Location: I offer both in‑person appointments at our Commerce Township office and telehealth sessions.

Counseling Philosophy
My counseling philosophy is rooted in a client-centered and holistic approach. I believe individuals thrive when given a safe, supportive space to explore their experiences, emotions, and identities. I work collaboratively with clients, empowering them to guide the therapeutic process in ways that honor their unique backgrounds and lived experiences. My goal is to help clients recognize and reframe negative thoughts, build resilience, and cultivate meaningful, sustainable change.
Counseling Orientation
My therapeutic orientation is eclectic and integrative, drawing from multiple modalities to meet each client’s individual needs. I incorporate Mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Psychoanalytic concepts, Person-Centered techniques, Art Therapy, and Solution-Focused strategies. I often use mindfulness, art-based interventions, deep breathing, and therapeutic worksheets to enhance self-awareness and support emotional well-being.
Areas of Specialty
I provide support for a wide range of emotional and mental health concerns, including grief and loss, depression, anxiety, and trauma. I also work with individuals experiencing adjustment disorders and those navigating life transitions. In addition, I offer care tailored to people with ADHD as well as affirming support for LGBTQIA+ individuals.
Qualifications
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Applied Arts from the University of Michigan, as well as a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a specialization in Art Therapy from Wayne State University. I have eight years of experience working in the mental health field, beginning with supporting children and adolescents with emotional, behavioral, cognitive, and developmental challenges. My career has since expanded to work with individuals across diverse backgrounds and older age groups (18 and up), offering personalized, evidence-based care.

My approach to therapy is based in person-centered and emotionally focused therapy. I believe that the counseling process is collaborative between the client and the counselor. I will work to provide a non-judgemental and safe space for my clients so that they feel they can explore their thoughts and actions, and discover things about themselves they may not know. Once the client has gained insight over their thoughts and behaviors, I use a cognitive behavioral approach to therapy to work with the client in working through and changing their negative thought patterns and behaviors. I also use a trauma-focused approach while working with clients who present with a trauma history. This allows the client and I to work through their trauma history together and work towards overcoming the symptoms they may be experiencing today from the trauma. There is not a single approach to therapy that works best for clients, and this is why I take an integrative approach to therapy to work with my clients in finding the technique that works the best for them.
I am a Limited Licensed Counselor in the state of Michigan. I obtained my Bachelor of Arts from Albion College with a major in psychology, and I obtained my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Oakland University. I have also obtained my trauma certification and am qualified to integrate trauma therapy in counseling sessions. I gained clinical experience working with clients during my practicum and internship classes. During internship, I gained experience working in the private practice setting working with a variety of clients, and I gained experience from an additional internship site working in the community mental health setting and leading group counseling sessions. I also have experience working in private practice as an outpatient mental health therapist after graduation.
I have experience working with clients with anxiety, self-esteem issues, relationship issues, depression, specific phobias, and trauma. I have experience working with clients from the ages of 9 and up. Regardless of your race, religion, ethnicity, or gender identity, I look forward to getting to know you and starting the counseling journey together.
