Taking the first step toward therapy is a courageous choice, and I’m honored to walk alongside this journey with you. I view Therapy as a collaborative partnership where both the counselor and client bring their unique strengths and insights to find meaningful solutions. I am deeply committed to supporting individuals in their personal growth and working collaboratively to achieve their goals. I believe in the power of creating a supportive, empathetic environment where clients feel safe, heard, understood, and empowered to make positive changes.
I integrate a variety of therapeutic approaches tailored to an individual’s unique needs. While I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify and change negative thought patterns and behaviors, I also utilize a Strength Based Approach, which focuses on building resilience and helping clients tap into their inherent strengths to foster personal growth and empowerment. Additionally, incorporating a Person-Centered approach ensures that clients are intrinsically involved in the therapy process, fostering a non-judgmental and accepting space where we can explore and understand your experiences.
The intent of my practice is to show that I am committed to working alongside you and providing a compassionate and understanding space to help you overcome obstacles and build a fulfilling life. I have experience working with people from a variety of different backgrounds with various presenting issues. Whether you are struggling with anxiety, depression, grief, life changes, family/relationship conflict, self-esteem, academic pressures, or simply feeling stuck, I am here and ready to work with you. No matter where you are in your journey, you are not alone- and change is possible.

Hi, I’m Tait Sapienza! I’m a student intern in clinical mental health counseling, working toward my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, which I’ll complete in 2025. I’m currently gaining hands-on experience at Tree of Life, where I provide counseling services under the supervision of licensed professionals. My journey into mental health counseling comes from a strong background in substance use counseling as a bachelor-level Alcohol and Drug Counselor with a CADC-DP. Over the years, I’ve worked with individuals navigating substance use challenges, facilitated group therapy, and provided individual counseling. I also have experience helping clients work through men’s mental health concerns, adverse childhood experiences, depression, trauma, grief/loss, and anxiety.
I’m passionate about creating a space where you feel safe, supported, and truly heard. Together, we’ll explore what’s most important to you and build on your strengths to help you overcome life’s challenges. My approach is collaborative and compassionate, using evidence-based practices like Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and mindfulness techniques. I also weave in person-centered and existential principles, helping clients uncover their values, find meaning, and create lives that feel authentic and fulfilling.
Whether you’re facing anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, substance use concerns, or struggles with self-esteem, I’m here to support you. My goal is to walk alongside you, offering guidance and encouragement as you navigate your unique path toward growth and healing.
Taking the first step to seek help—or continuing your journey with someone new—can feel overwhelming, but you don’t have to do it alone. If you have questions or are ready to begin, I’d be honored to connect with you and be a part of your journey. Let’s work together to create the life you envision!

Counseling Philosophy & Orientation:
Therapy for me is a process where we work together to find ways for you to feel comfortable in your own skin and live your life in the best way you can. We will work together to tailor your treatment utilizing evidence-based interventions, which can include art therapy, dream analysis, active imagination, guided imagery, word association, cognitive behavioral therapy, Internal Family System (IFS), and mindfulness, among others. I can also provide therapy in Brazilian Portuguese. Being in therapy myself provided me the opportunity to experience both sides of the therapeutic process and the beauty of it. I experienced all of my practices, and I continue to learn with my clients and for my clients. It will be an honor working with you and finding out what therapy is for you.
Qualifications & Areas of Specialty:
I'm an integrative counselor and art therapist with a Jungian theoretical background, with experience working with children, adolescents, and adults who might have experienced adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), trauma (verbal, emotional, physical, and sexual abuse), anxiety, and depression. I also work with couples struggling with relationship issues.

Counseling Philosophy
Therapy is an inviting place where every single part of you is welcome, even the parts that are uncomfortable to share. There are two key factors that make counseling successful: empathy from the therapist and trust from the client. Once achieved, the healing process can begin. I am devoted to providing a safe space for you to discuss your deepest concerns and challenges without fear of judgment or misunderstanding. Together, we can create a strong therapeutic alliance and work towards your goals and desired changes.
Counseling Orientation
I use an integrative approach with my clients, meaning that I consider that every client and situation is different and must be treated as so. In doing so, I can use the most effective methods available to address each individual client's needs and wants. The therapy approaches I frequently use are Person-Centered, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, and Strength Based.
Areas of Specialty
I enjoy working with a wide range of clients with varying backgrounds. The clients I typically see are children 5+, adolescents, and adults of any age. I specialize in working with anxiety, depression, adjustment disorders, and trauma. We will work together to use your strengths to find solutions to problems, enhance relationships, build confidence, and develop a healthy sense of self.
Qualifications
I am a Limited Licensed Counselor (LLC), with a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and School Counseling from Wayne State University. I am currently working towards my LPC and am working under the direct supervision of a licensed professional counselor. Counseling Philosophy
My approach is rooted in empathy, genuineness, and unconditional positive regard. I believe the client is the expert in their own life; however, it takes a village to overcome life’s challenges. I help educate clients about their treatment and give them the tools to impact their daily lives positively. I aim to be a pillar of support to help clients meet their goals and lead happier, more fulfilling lives.
Counseling Orientation
My therapeutic orientation is primarily grounded in cognitive-behavioral theory. I aim to explore how negative thought patterns and beliefs can lead to unwanted behaviors and feelings; I seek to align my client’s thoughts, feelings, and actions with their goals. However, I will integrate several approaches if necessary—I believe each client has a unique identity, and my therapeutic interventions will be individualized to meet their goals. In addition, I am dedicated to applying techniques and interventions with a firm evidence base that supports the overall effectiveness and creates the change the clients seek.
Areas of Specialty
I enjoy working with a variety of clients, from children to adults. Specifically, I have a wealth of experience working with children, adolescents, families, and individuals with disabilities. Additional specialty areas include but are not limited to anxiety, anger, depression, ADHD, adjustment issues, and trauma.
