Hi, I’m Nicole, and my pronouns are she/her. I’m a queer therapist who works with individuals ages 4 and up, and I’m especially passionate about supporting families. I have experience working across a variety of settings, including the justice system, education, and youth services, which has given me a well-rounded perspective on the unique challenges individuals and families face.
I enjoy working with behavioral concerns, anxiety, borderline personality disorder, ADHD, LGBTQ+ individuals, family dynamics, and have a strong history of building trust with teenagers—especially those who may be hesitant about or resistant of therapy. My approach is client-centered and collaborative, integrating mindfulness practices along with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). I also incorporate art and play into sessions to help clients of all ages express themselves in creative and meaningful ways.
Whether you're looking for support for yourself, your child, or your family, I strive to offer an inclusive, affirming space where healing and growth can happen at your pace.
Qualifications – I earned by Masters in Social Work from Grand Valley State University and a Bachelors in Psychology from Calvin University. I am currently pursuing my certification as an ADHD Clinical Services Provider.
Office Location: In-person appointments at Grand Rapids and telehealth appointments.

Welcome! I’m so glad you’re here. My name is Bethany, and my pronouns are she/her.
Counseling is a big step, and while it can be a struggle at times or feel like a lot, my hope is that you find a way to live more authentically the life you want and step into your power. We are all unique and have our own desires and goals. As your counselor, it is not my job to tell you what to do. I am here to help you through the process, provide tools, and build a relationship that better supports you as an individual. I firmly believe that counseling should be a judgement free zone and I offer unconditional positive regard as a cornerstone of my counseling style.
My background is in working with youth who have experienced trauma. I have worked in youth homes and as a school counselor. I have experience providing CBT, DBT, TF-CBT, and solution focused therapy. However, while some aspects of these therapy styles may be present, I think it is most important to meet you where you’re at and it is likely no one counseling style will fit perfectly. I’m excited to meet you and start this journey together!
Office Location: I work with clients both in-person out of our Grand Rapids office as well as through telehealth.
