Counseling Philosophy
"The good life is a process, not a state of being. It is a direction, not a destination." - Carl Rogers
As a clinician, it is my goal to help guide you in the right direction of your personal good life. While providing a secure, trustworthy environment for you, together we will work towards the process of building the best version of yourself. My philosophy is that in the hopes of helping people become the best versions of themselves they will encourage others to do the same; thus making a positive impact on the world.
Counseling Orientation
I approach counseling in a diverse manner in an attempt to provide services that are tailored to your strengths and who you are as an individual. Although I approach counseling in an eclectic fashion, my counseling foundations are rooted in Psychoanalytic Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Person-Centered Therapy. This means I value your past and how it has affected your life currently. I value your thoughts, emotions, and the behaviors you conduct. Lastly, I value you as a person and encourage you to reflect on the things that you will learn about yourself within our sessions.
Areas of Specialty
I work with individuals from a variety of different backgrounds. I also take pride in having a multicultural perspective and being willing to learn about one’s culture and how it influences them. The issues I have helped clients face are as follows: anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, and self-esteem issues. I have experience with working with adults, adolescents, and children.
Qualifications
I am currently completing a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Wayne State University. I am on track to graduate in the summer of 2023 with my LLC. Prior to enrolling at Wayne State University, I obtained my Bachelor’s in Psychology from Michigan State University. During my internship, I am serving clients under the direct supervision of a licensed professional counselor. Due to my experience as a clinical case manager, I am certified in Crisis Prevention Intervention.
