A change in life no matter how small can create a variety of emotions and it can be difficult sometimes to navigate what the next step is. If you feel like you need someone outside of your family or friends to release some of that emotion, I am here for you. My goal as a counselor is to remain neutral in offering guidance to those looking for a safe space to learn about themselves while facing all of life’s moments.
I believe that to see results in working with a counselor, having a common goal and manageable steps towards that goal is critical to evolve adjustments in thinking into life habits. My practice is centered around learning and creating a mental toolbox of strategies that can be used in maneuvering conflicts in all stages of life. These include education and goal setting as well as setting manageable objectives for individual growth. I believe all clients, regardless of age can benefit from enhancing their knowledge on self-awareness and healthy emotional regulation.
My target population is children and adolescents, where I partner with both my client and their guardians to create a space where appropriate collaboration is used to best serve the client’s well-being. I also work with adults both individually and as a couple who are navigating the emotions surrounding major life transitions such as divorce, parenting and grief and loss. I have experience working with diagnoses such as anxiety, depression, childhood adjustment disorders, panic disorders, trauma, and self-harm.
I believe that everyone has a right to advocate for their needs and grow through obstacles in a way that they can understand. I also acknowledge that every client has a different perspective on what healthy living is and respect those boundaries accordingly. Therefore, I use an integrative humanistic theoretical approach that also utilizes narrative and cognitive behavioral tactics. In other words, I help clients organize information within their life into a chronological sequence to understand the connection to their past and implement goal setting using concrete thoughts and behaviors you may already practice to help make adjustments to create a future you can be excited about. Every individual has a story and I want to acknowledge and celebrate each one to continue creating the formative skills needed to live out your future chapters.
I celebrate you for taking this step towards growth for yourself and it is my pleasure to be a part of your team.
