Counseling Philosophy
Therapy is an opportunity for an individual to receive support and guidance from an open-minded professional while they engage in the process of healing and change. As a therapist, I inspire to provide an opportunity for authentic conversations and expression of emotions in a welcoming and honest environment. I highlight the importance of a healthy mind-body connection, while tailoring the therapeutic tools used in session to best fit an individual’s unique experiences and present concerns. As the client is the director of their own healing process, I am there to help guide, confront, and cope with any barriers that are keeping them from becoming their fully integrated self.
Counseling Orientation
In order to respect the diverse backgrounds and identities of my clients, I take an integrative approach to counseling. I tend to use counseling techniques and interventions from cognitive-behavioral, person-centered, humanistic, and mindfulness-based theories. It is my goal to create and honor a trustworthy connection with my clients, so they feel comfortable with sharing their thoughts, feelings, and experiences. I approach sessions with an empathetic, curious, and non-judgmental manner as I join my clients on their therapeutic journey. It is important to me that my clients have a supportive and productive therapeutic experience.
