Every person who enters my office comes with their own unique history, identity, strengths and therapy goals. With this focus, I employ a variety of therapeutic approaches including existential therapy, emotion focused therapy (EFT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and the Gottman Method so I can tailor our sessions to your needs.
In our sessions, I will use compassion and unconditional positive regard to create a space where you can bring your whole self. I welcome all clients (both couples and individuals).
My specialization is adults dealing with depression and anxiety. In our first session, we will go through an intake process where we discuss your presenting issues, your history, your health, my role as a therapist and your goals for therapy. As we continue to work together, we will identify causes, patterns, behaviors, and systems that may be contributing to your issues. We will work together to equip you with the knowledge and self-confidence you need to make changes and develop positive coping strategies to improve your quality of life.
I hold a MA from Oakland University. I am a queer, trans-inclusive intersectional feminist and this ethos underpins my therapeutic practice. I volunteer in my community and believe in the importance of contributing to my community. I also place a great deal of importance on self-care and practice it myself through my love of music, good food, the outdoors, tennis, animals, fantasy novels, ttrpgs and other nerdy pursuits.
