If you or someone you love has experienced a traumatic event, you may feel overwhelmed and at a loss of where to begin. The effects of trauma are profound both on an individual and that individual's family. A child or teen who has experienced trauma often feels misunderstood, alone in their feelings, and afraid. Mental health disorders such as ADHD, depression, and anxiety can be misdiagnosed and often have untreated trauma at the root. The wrong diagnosis can be frustrating and leave you feeling lost again. Trauma-informed practitioners such as myself understand the delicate nature of trauma.
I believe in an individualistic approach to counseling that uniquely treats each client. I provide a safe and judgment-free therapeutic environment where clients can open up. I utilize Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TF-CBT) as well as a strengths-based approach to help my clients process their traumatic experiences.
